Tea has the following presentations which are perfect for libraries, conferences, rec programs, book stores, and other events. All presentations are 45 minutes followed by a 15 minute Q and A session.
“Wisconsin Legends & Lore”
Tea’s book of the same title (out 2020 from History Press) explores stories of Wisconsin folklore, from native and lumberjack stories to ghostlore, monster sightings, urban legends, and more. It’s a fun exploration of Wisconsin’s history and identity.
“The Secret History of the Real Life Superheroes”
While researching his book Heroes in the Night: Inside the Real Life Superhero Movement, Tea discovered several case studies of people who dressed up in their own superhero personas to try to make the world a better place. This presentation examines these colorful real life characters.
“Conspiracy Theory 101”
While working on his book American Madness (out 2020 from Feral House) Tea researched the history and contemporary studies of conspiracy theory.
This presentation is an objective view of conspiracy theory history, an examination of secret societies and why conspiracists believe they rule the world, as well as major events like the JFK assassination and 9/11. Tea isn’t going to try to convince you to believe these theories, but you’ll learn about the history and context behind them.
“Al Capone: Ghostlore, Hidden Treasure, and Other Legends”
Al Capone is larger than life, larger than the afterlife. This fun presentation reviews the life of the famous gangster and shares the lore about sightings of his ghost, tales of his buried treasure and myths and legends about Capone’s life.
